Engranajes de plástico fabricados con compuestos especiales LNP* de SABIC Innovative Plastics>BERGEN OP ZOOM, Países Bajos – 29 de julio de 2010 – SABIC Innovative Plastics, líder mundial en el suministro de soluciones de termoplásticos de ingeniería, ha colaborado con el fabricante de software suizo KISSsoft AG para ayudar a terminar con las dudas sobre el diseño de engranajes de plástico. Para acelerar la tendencia a sustituir los metales por compuestos termoplásticos duraderos, versátiles y de altas prestaciones, KISSsoft está actualmente realizando cálculos de dimensionamiento de engranajes para 17 grados de compuestos especiales LNP* de SABIC Innovative Plastics, entre los que se incluyen grados para alta temperatura, lubricados internamente y reforzados con fibra. Ahora, los ingenieros y diseñadores pueden dejar el sistema de prueba y error y sustituirlo por el uso de datos validados de parámetros como la resistencia mecánica, la resistencia a la temperatura y el desgaste del flanco de los dientes del engranaje para acelerar de forma significativa su proceso de diseño de engranajes. Esta nueva solución puede servir de ayuda en una amplia variedad de industrias, desde la industria sanitaria y la automoción hasta los servicios de alimentación, aprovechando las ventajas de los engranajes de plástico para reducir el coste del sistema, ampliar de manera importante la libertad de diseño, reducir el peso y conseguir un mayor rendimiento.

Clariant further improves profitability based on better demand and reduced cost base

Clariant· Q2 sales up 20% in local currencies and 18% in CHF as global economic activity continued to rebound year on year
· Q2 operating income before exceptional items rose to CHF 211 million compared to CHF 69 million a year ago and CHF 183 million in the first quarter, mainly driven by higher sales volumes
· Q2 operating income margin before exceptional items reached 11.1% compared to 4.3% a year ago
· Q2 cash flow from operations amounted to CHF 33 million from CHF 184 million in the previous year given a volume-related temporary increase in inventories and trade receivables
· Outlook: Against the backdrop of an anticipated softening of the global economy, Clariant expects lower sales growth in the second half of the year with demand remaining solid. Clariant guides for sales growth in the high-single digit percentage range and an operating margin before exceptionals for the full-year above 8%.
