Rhodia e Inoplast innovan con la creación de la primera viga de refuerzo de calandra de camión en poliamida
Lyon, France – 30 de marzo de 2009 – Rhodia e Inoplast presentan una innovación al crear la primera viga de refuerzo de calandra de camión en poliamida. Este proyecto, ya en fabricación para una gama conocida de camiones, tiene por objetivo reducir los costes y aligerar el vehículo, conservando en todo momento la función de esta viga, elemento de estructura determinante para la rigidez. Technyl Star™ AFX, la poliamida de última generación de Rhodia, ha demostrado ser la única que puede cumplir con estas condiciones, gracias a una resistencia mecánica muy elevada acompañada de una fluidez excepcional.

El piloto trasero 3D del concept car «ix-onic» pone de relieve la reciente colaboración entre Hyundai y SABIC Innovative Plastics, basada en la aplicación de la tecnología de acristalamiento de policarbonato
BERGEN OP ZOOM, Países Bajos – 25 de marzo de 2009 – El acristalamiento de policarbonato se ha convertido en una herramienta importante para que los fabricantes de automóviles refuercen el carácter distintivo de sus vehículos. Esta tecnología ofrece mayor libertad de diseño, mayor rendimiento y menor peso que el vidrio tradicional. Muestra de ello es el nuevo prototipo de SUV «ix-onic» de Hyundai Motor Company, que se presentó recientemente en el 79º Salón Internacional del Automóvil. La empresa recurrió a SABIC Innovative Plastics para crear un piloto trasero exclusivo. La idea era aprovechar las ventajas del acristalamiento Exatec* E900, que hace uso de la resina de policarbonato Lexan GLX*. SABIC Innovative Plastics ya ha colaborado con Hyundai en diversos proyectos (hace poco, en el Hyundai QarmaQ), un ejemplo de su determinación por ayudar a los clientes del sector de la automoción a alcanzar el éxito.

Advanced LED chips with increased light output, can now be used for automotive headlamps. Because of their long service life and compact size, LED lamps have become an attractive alternative to gas discharge lamps. Big advantages are the high endurance and new design possibilities. In addition, their high efficiency saves energy and and thus fuel. However, since the active chip surface is rather small, it requires adequate cooling. Fans optimized to the special needs of automotive headlamps deliver the required air flow for active cooling. In all this, high reliability and long life are indispensible for all headlamp components.
