DyneemaURMOND (NL), 4 December 2008 - In the first large public tender of its type in South Asia, Ordnance Factory, India, has chosen and specified Dyneema® HB26 unidirectional (UD) composite from DSM Dyneema for armoring mine protected vehicles for the Indian Army. Ultra-strong, lightweight Dyneema® HB26 was selected due to its robust ballistic performance combined with additional advantages, such as high stiffness, excellent acoustic and flame-retardant properties, to ensure superior quality and protection. The DSM material is being used by Anjani Technoplast Limited, a leading manufacturer based in Delhi, India, to supply protective, rigid panels to Ordnance Factory, India.

Basándose en los numerosos años de éxito conseguidos con el uso de esta resina de SABIC Innovative Plastics, el fabricante de automóviles francés Renault ha extendido esta tecnología a dos de sus modelos más nuevos. El Twingo 2007 y el Kangoo 2008 son los últimos vehículos Renault en incorporar la ligera, duradera y resistente resina Noryl GTX en el guardabarros como una alternativa al acero. Esta tecnología de altas prestaciones ha permitido que Renault mantenga el peso del guardabarros en tan sólo un 50% aproximadamente con respecto al acero, al tiempo que proporciona una durabilidad superior a la del acero frente a impactos a baja velocidad.
