赛默飞世尔科技捐赠近80万元和多套检测仪器，全面支援中国四川地震灾区
（2008年5月22日，上海）—— 世界科学仪器的领导生产商赛默飞世尔科技公司前日派专人赴上海红十字会，为四川汶川大地震灾区送上了首批由公司和员工共同捐助的573,628元，用于受灾群众以及灾后重建工作，本周赛默飞世尔将捐赠第二批约20万元给红十字会，从而使公司的捐款总额超过78万元。同时，赛默飞世尔科技还动员全球3万名员工一起为四川地震灾区提供帮助，许多国外同事已经通过国际红十字会和其他境外机构捐款。此外，该公司利用其技术优势已经向四川疾控中心和四川省环境检测站无偿捐赠15台余氯总氯水质检测比色计和配套试剂，以帮助当地饮用水质的监测。

URMOND (NL), 22 mayo 2008 - El Tribunal del Distrito Norte de Texas - Estados Unidos de America se ha pronunciado sobre una demanda de violación de patente, marca y daños derivados entablada contra Armor USA el 22 de abril de 2008. El fallo, relativo a la fibra de polietileno ultrafuerte Dyneema® de DSM, permitió a DSM impedir que Armor USA continuara vendiendo prodcutos infractores que utilizan la mencionada fibra de polietileno en el mercado estadounidense .

Borealis promotes infrastructure renewal at Italy's 'H2O 2008' water supply show
Italy’s water supply and treatment infrastructure needs a significant upgrade. The country's ageing pipe system is creating annual losses for its operators of at least EUR 3.9 billion, and possibly as much as EUR 5.2 billion, recent research indicates*. Renewing the system will entail a major investment, but as much as EUR 85 billion could be saved in the costs of materials, installation, maintenance and environmental impact, if plastic pipes are used instead of traditional materials to put an end to this wastage.

SABIC Innovative Plastics Names Charlie Crew President and CEO
