HITACHI AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS EUROPE APROVECHA LA FLUIDEZ, LA RESISTENCIA Y LA PRECISIÓN DE DIMENSIONES DEL ARNITE®
Hitachi Automotive Systems Europe, Ltd., ha escogido Arnite®, un terftalato de polibuteno (PBT) reforzado con fibra de vidrio de DSM Engineering Plastics, para el cuerpo del sensor de flujo de aire en los motores AUDI. Es una pieza moldeada por inyección con Arnite TV4 261, un grado de PBT reforzado con un 30% de fibra de vidrio. Este producto proporciona a la pieza una combinación de propiedades importantes para su uso: excelente fluidez, estabilidad dimensional a largo plazo, rigidez y resistencia en toda una amplia gama de temperaturas y resistencia a los productos químicos. La producción exige sólo moldeo – no se requiere recristalización para mitigar las tensiones internas que podrían llevar al alabeo.

Asian PPG Industries Ltd. to acquire auto refinish business of ICI India Ltd.
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 20, 2007 – PPG Industries (NYSE: PPG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ICI India Ltd., Mumbai, India, to facilitate the acquisition of ICI’s premium automotive refinish business. Upon closing, the business would be acquired by Asian PPG Industries Ltd., a 50 percent joint venture of PPG and Asian Paints Ltd., also of Mumbai. The closing is scheduled for mid-March and is subject to certain conditions. The transaction is valued at approximately $12 million.

CHEMTURA INCREASES METAL ALKYL PRICES
Due to continued operational and capital cost demands, Chemtura Corporation will increase the prices of the neat portion of its aluminum alkyl products by 25%. Pricing for the neat portion of its Magnesium and Zinc alkyl products will be increased by 100%. These price increases will be effective April 1, 2007, or as contracts allow. For solvent blends, higher solvent purchase costs will be reflected in the blend pricing.

Sumitomo Bakelite invierte en compuestos de moldeo especializados
Gante, Bélgica – 5 de marzo de 2007 – El Grupo Sumitomo Bakelite ha anunciado la reciente adquisición de Neopreg AG, un fabricante suizo de compuestos termoestables de fibra larga comercializados bajo las marcas Kinel y Neonite. Neopreg, con sede en Gelterkinden, posee una tecnología exclusiva para fabricar estos compuestos que complementa las tecnologías utilizadas por Sumitomo en las empresas que ya tenía de compuestos especializados. Neopreg se integrará en Vyncolit N.V., la filial de Sumitomo que fabrica compuestos de moldeo en Europa, pero conservará su nombre. Henny van Dijk, Presidente de Vyncolit N.V., ha asumido también su dirección desde el 19 de febrero de 2007.

UL-APPROVED FASSON OVERLAMINATING FILM FOR DURABLE LABELS
