Señalización del hotel SeaCloud hecha con la lámina Lexan* SG305-OB de GE>BERGEN OP ZOOM, PAÍSES BAJOS —23 de febrero de 2007 — GE Plastics ha lanzado una nueva lámina de policarbonato (PC) Lexan* específicamente diseñada para realzar la visibilidad y el atractivo de paneles de señalización iluminados. La lámina Lexan SG305-OB, a diferencia de las láminas convencionales, ofrece una difusión uniforme de la luz para eliminar los "poros" de los diodos emisores de luz (LED) y una visión de las fuentes de iluminación, y una excelente transmisión de la luz para lograr un brillo óptico excepcional con bajo coste de energía. De hecho, los espesores de 2 mm. y 5 mm. de la lámina Lexan SG305-OB potencian la transmisión de la luz más de un 50%, a diferencia de materiales competidores como el metacrilato de polimetilo (PMMA) que sólo permite un aumento del 25%. La nueva lámina blanca, que presenta un acabado mate en la superficie exterior para reducir reflejos, también ofrece una magnífica protección contra rayos UVA, además de la ya reconocida resistencia y dureza de la resina Lexan, que es prácticamente irrompible.

PUMP-ROLLERS FROM QUADRANT CMS FOR COST-EFFECTIVE, HIGH VOLUME PRODUCTION

The pump-rollers moulded by Quadrant CMS are principle components used in a pump in a high volume consumer electronics product. The pump-rollers are produced from Quadrant’s Ertalyte TX, unreinforced semi-crystalline polyester (PET-P) with a solid lubricant filler.
TIELT, BELGIUM – February 22th, 2007 – Development work by Quadrant CMS (Creative Moulding & Systems), in close cooperation with Micropump Inc., has enabled the injection-moulding of pumps-rollers for a high volume application using Ertalyte TX PET-P. These parts were originally machined from extruded bar stock of the same material by Quadrant CMS’ sister company Quadrant EPP (Engineering Plastic Products), a specialist in this field. The change to a more cost-effective processing method for the pump-rollers, the production levels of which increased rapidly over the last few years, was welcomed by Micropump Inc.

PPG posts record fourth quarter, full year sales for 2006
