NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR AT QUADRANT CMS
TIELT, BELGIUM – June 13th, 2006 – Effective 1st June 2006, Peter van Damme (51) has assumed the role of Managing Director/CEO and becomes a Member of the Board of Directors at Quadrant CMS (Creative Moulding Systems), the Injection Moulding Division of the Quadrant Group. He succeeds Fernand Vandaele (61), who will remain as President of the Board of Directors at the company before retiring on 1 April 2007. Over the course of 35 years, Vandaele has held a number of senior management positions at the formerly family owned business ERTA, which was acquired by DSM in 1977 and has been part of Quadrant AG Holding since 2001. Over the next year Vandaele will focus largely on Quadrant CMS’s recently established subsidiary in Hungary. After his retirement in 2007 he will remain active as consultant.

AS THREATS INCREASE, PROTECTIVE INSERTS MADE WITH DYNEEMA® HELP KEEP BRITISH SOLDIERS SAFER

Until now, it has been difficult to balance the need for higher protection with light weight needed by soldiers for optimal agility and speed in combat. Advances in weapons and ammunition, which pose new threats to soldiers, have increased the challenge facing the military services. However, Dyneema® High Performance Polyethylene (HPPE) makes it possible to raise the effectiveness of personal protection for troops at the lowest possible weight.

NEW DYNEEMA® HB26 FOR BEST LIGHT WEIGHT HARD BALLISTIC PROTECTION PERFORMANCE
Urmond (NL), June 12, 2006 - For protection of military and civilian vehicles against today’s toughest threats – including improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and assault rifles – DSM Dyneema announces the introduction of a new hard ballistic composite. Unsurpassed protection for ships, aircraft and land vehicles, including multi-hit capabilities, flame retardance and heat resistance, can be obtained by using Dyneema® HB26. La norma UL1581 reconoce a las resinas retardantes a la llama Flexible Noryl* de GE como materiales aptos para el revestimiento de cables en aplicaciones a 80º, 90º y 105º C
BERGEN OP ZOOM, PAÍSES BAJOS – 12 Junio 2006 -GE Plastics recientemente anunció que varios grados de su resina retardante a la llama Flexible Noryl* para el revestimiento y aislamiento de cables han sido incluidas en la norma de referencia UL1581 de Underwriters Laboratories (UL) para cables, conductores y cables flexibles eléctricos de temperaturas límite hasta 105º C. Como resultado, los cables propuestos que incorporan las resinas flexibles Noryl de altas prestaciones sólo tienen que someterse a una prueba de envejecimiento a corto plazo, en lugar de pasar por una prueba a largo plazo de 150 días, lo que reduce el tiempo de llegada al mercado. Los nuevos materiales de GE ya han demostrado su eficacia en los sectores de automoción y de productos electrónicos y, con su introducción en esta nueva lista de UL, están posicionados para un rápido crecimiento en aplicaciones de cableado de aparatos eléctricos.
