NatureWorks LLC Introduces Smart Care
In the past three years, NatureWorks LLC has seen a dramatic increase in the number of commercial successes of NatureWorks® PLA in packaging, serviceware and consumer goods products. Many companies working with NatureWorks, through best practices of processing, shipping and storage of their NatureWorks PLA-based products, have successfully, and profitably, managed their NatureWorks product lines, through the supply chain, to secure brand owners globally. To continue to promote such successes, NatureWorks has documented and compiled the best practices of partners such as these who have profited from managing their brands and product made from NatureWorks PLA through proper care and handling, from the converting lines to the store shelves.

DSM to double capacity for engineering plastics in China
Royal DSM N.V. today announces the opening of its new compounding site for engineering plastics at Jiangyin in the Jiangsu province of China on April 26, 2006. This project will double the total capacity for the product lines Stanyl® PA46, Akulon® PA6 and Arnite® PBT. These materials are used in manufacturing key molded components for the automotive, electrical and electronics, consumer and industrial segments.

Synventive concentrará sus operaciones de fabricación europeas
‘s GRAVENDEEL, PAÍSES BAJOS - 26 de abril de 2006 - Synventive Molding Solutions, fabricante líder de sistemas de canales calientes y componentes afines, ha alcanzado un acuerdo con el comité de empresa y con el sindicato para consolidar la fabricación europea en su planta de Bensheim, Alemania. Además, Synventive ha alcanzado otro acuerdo con el sindicato con respecto a un Plan Social para los empleados afectados por la reorganización.

DELICADO Y RESISTENTE, LOS ENGRANAJES ULTRAPRECISOS DE LA PA 46 STANYL® AYUDAN A MANTENER EL JOYSTEER® EN LA DIRECCION CORRECTA
Los engranajes de precisión hechos con Stanyl®, una poliamida 46 (PA46) de altas prestaciones de DSM Engineering Plastics, ayudan a un nuevo sistema de conducción por cable basado en una palanca, a que los movimientos de dirección que realiza el conductor lleguen al control del vehículo. Con la denominación de Joysteer®, el nuevo sistema fue diseñado para que los conductores con deficiencias musculares en el brazo pudieran ponerse al volante – o en este caso la palanca de control – y conducir por si mismos. El Joysteer se presentó en la Feria de Hannover que tuvo lugar del 24 al 28 de Abril de 2006, un escaparate ideal para la ingeniería sea mecánica, de fabricación, eléctrica, electrónica y de automoción.

Borealis is adding another grade to its SupercureTM high productivity energy cable compound product portfolio by offering a crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation solution for long-term performance cables. The first of its kind, Supercure LC8205 combines water tree retardant properties with faster crosslinking, ensuring longevity of the cable and quick production runs benefiting both cable makers and power distributors.
