New UV9200* Silicone from GE Raises the Bar for Low-Viscosity UV-Cure Polymers Used in Converting Applications

GE’s New UV9200* Silicone GE’s new non-volatile UV9200* silicone is an excellent candidate for direct gravure, offset gravure, and flexo coating techniques. The new silicone’s low viscosity permits even deposition at reduced coat weight, which may translate into reduced materials costs for customers, potentially enabling them to use coating equipment already on the factory floor without the need for expensive upgrades. New UV9200 silicone may also enhance the manufacture of release films where its excellent flowout performance delivers good coverage with low coat weight. Used in epoxysilicone formulas, UV9200 silicone can also help improve optical clarity in clear films. Quadrant CMS, una importante empresa belga en el campo del diseño, moldeo montaje y logística, ha escogido la poliamida 6 (PA6) Akulon® Ultraflow® K-FG12 de DSM Engineering Plastics para moldear conjuntos de bisagras de una cabina de bronceado de cuerpo entero para Philips. Con este material se obtuvo un moldeo más rápido, un mejor acabado superficial y la capacidad de aceptar una más amplia gama de colores que el grado de PA6 cargado con fibra de vidrio convencional que substituye.
