La empresa de productos químicos especializados Perstorp, con base en Suecia, ha lanzado Polygiene™, una serie nueva de compuestos para moldeo antivíricos y antimicrobianos que hacen “Safe to Touch” (de contacto seguro) una amplia variedad de dispositivos eléctricos, como interruptores de luz y placas de interruptores; componentes sanitarios, como asientos de inodoro y otros elementos, como tiradores de puertas, barandas, cambiadores de bebés, botones de ascensor, bolígrafos y teléfonos públicos. La fórmula pendiente de patente empleada en estos compuestos es la primera que se ha demostrado mediante ensayos que mata al contacto al coronavirus del SARS (SARS-CoV). También mata a muchos tipos de bacterias, levaduras y mohos.
