HONEYWELL INICIA LA PRODUCCIÓN ADICIONAL DE REFRIGERANTES SUSTITUTOS DEL R-22
MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Nueva Jersey, 25 de febrero de 2003 – La división Chemicals de Honeywell (NYSE:HON) ha anunciado hoy que ha iniciado la producción de HFC-125 en sus nuevas instalaciones de Geismar, Luisiana. Richard Preziotti, Vicepresidente y Director General de Honeywell Chemicals, afirma: «Nos hemos comprometido a ser el primer fabricante y proveedor de refrigerantes inocuos para la capa de ozono destinados a fabricantes de equipos y canales de servicio técnico de todo el mundo, y estas nuevas instalaciones muestran con claridad nuestro compromiso con nuestros clientes. Las recientes restricciones a la producción de R-22 impuestas este año por la Agencia de Protección del Medio Ambiente de los Estados Unidos entran dentro de la tendencia mundial a abandonar los HCFC y abrazar los refrigerantes que, como el R-410A, utilizan HFC-125. Esta expansión está perfectamente programada en el tiempo».

Eastman Chemical Company has announced a list and off-list price increase of US$0.03 per pound/US$0.07 per kilogram on selected Eastman ester solvents effective April 1, 2003. A US$0.04 per pound/US$0.09 per kilogram price increase has been announced for Eastman EEP.

European Tech Firms voice concern over Iraq
London 11 March, 2003: Senior executives in European technology companies are concerned that a war in Iraq could delay a recovery in the IT market according to a new survey conducted by specialist technology group, Eurocom PR Network. 60% of European technology executives ranked a war in Iraq amongst the top three most serious threats to recovery in the IT market. Over a quarter (26%) ranked it as the number one threat. The study covered 147 executives in technology companies located in 12 countries in Europe as well as Middle East and South Africa and was conducted during February and March.

Strong interest in Beyond REACH Conference
