SABIC Innovative Plastics Teams with IAV GmbH to Develop Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Powertrain Solutions with High-Performance, Lightweight Thermoplastics
MANNHEIM, Germany – April 6, 2011 – Here at the VDI conference – Booth #74 – SABIC Innovative Plastics today announced its collaboration with IAV GmbH, a world leader in advanced vehicle and powertrain systems, to develop advanced thermoplastic solutions that can replace metal in electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid powertrain components. Specifically, the two companies are targeting new ways to optimize vehicle performance and efficiency, including lightweighting to offset heavy battery packs and shielding in areas of high voltage.

Arkema: a major supplier in the paint and coating industry in 2011
Arkema plans to assume ownership of Total’s coatings resins and photocure resins activity1 mid-2011. On completion of the acquisition, Arkema will have a unique and comprehensive portfolio of coatings materials and technologies. The current acquisition is the latest in a series of acquisitions over four years that will make Arkema a leading supplier serving paint and coating producers around the world. DSM INTRODUCES ATLAC® 5200 - NEW FOOD-CONTACT AND DRINKING WATER COMPLIANT RESIN
April 4th 2011 - DSM has introduced its latest composite resin – Atlac® 5200 FC - developed specifically for use in composite applications that have contact with food and water. Officially launched at last week's JEC show1 in Paris, this new vinyl ester resin is unique in that it is fully compliant with the European regulations on food contact and made in line with commonly accepted Good Manufacturing Practices for the Food Industry. The resin is therefore suitable for use in a variety of composite applications such as tanks and pipes that are intended for contact with food and potable water.

DSM DYNEEMA APPOINTS GRUSCHWITZ GMBH TECH-TWISTS AS PREMIUM DISTRIBUTION PARTNER
The Netherlands, April 4, 2011 - DSM Dyneema has formed a partnership with gruschwitz gmbh Tech-Twists in which they become a Premium Distribution Partner for UHMWPE fiber manufactured by DSM Dyneema. The new agreement becomes effective April 1st 2011 and is specific to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia – Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.
