Muttenz, 15. August 2017 – Die Clariant AG berichtet über den Fortgang der notwendigen behördlichen Freigaben, die für den Abschluss der Fusion unter Gleichen mit der Huntsman Corporation nötig sind. Die US-amerikanische Kartellbehörde Federal Trade Commission (FTC), welche die kartellrechtlichen Auswirkungen beim Zusammenschluss bestimmter Geschäfte überprüft, hat gestern am späten Abend ein zweites Auskunftsersuchen an die Parteien betreffend lediglich zweier Produkte gerichtet – Sodiumisethionat, das in Körperpflegeprodukten wie Seife und Shampoos verwendet wird, sowie ein Polyetheramin-Produkt, das in bestimmten Bau-, Additiv-, Farb- und Druckfarben-Anwendungen verwendet wird. Auf diese Produkte entfielen im Jahr 2016 bei jedem der beiden Unternehmen weniger als USD 24 Millionen Gesamtumsatz in den USA. Clariant ist zuversichtlich, dass beide Unternehmen alle Bedenken der FTC noch vor dem um das Jahresende geplanten Closing des Mergers ausräumen können.
