Polyethylene Lumicene® M3427 awarded the Total Ecosolutions label for artificial grass sports fields
Brussels, February 22, 2016 - Polyethylene Lumicene® M3427 is used for the manufacture of artificial grass yarn whose main application is synthetic turf for sports fields. Turf carpets constructed with these yarns demonstrate a resistance to fibrillation twice as high as market reference octene-based linear low density polyethylene. This was evidenced by extended Lisport testing according to EN 15336 and results were confirmed by leading yarn producers. The gain in lifetime of the sports field can be estimated at >50%.

Perstorp signs Memorandum of Understanding at “Make in India”
Malmö - February 19, 2016 - Perstorp, a world leader in specialty chemicals has been participating in the event “Make in India”. By signing an MoU with MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation), the company initiates the process of evaluating the opportunity to invest in a new world scale production plant for Penta in India. The related market for coatings is growing fast in the country. Building a world scale production plant would be yet another important part of the ambitious plan to strengthen the position in the Asian Market. In July 2015, Perstorp acquired the Penta business from Koei Chemical Company Ltd., a Japanese chemicals producer.

Bio-Ethanol aus Agrarreststoffen findet erstmalig Anwendung in Reinigungsmitteln
Clariant, ein weltweit führendes Spezialchemieunternehmen, hat in Kooperation mit Werner & Mertz, dem Herstellerunternehmen von Frosch®-Produkten, ein Projekt ins Leben gerufen, das die Einsatzmöglichkeiten von Bio-Ethanol auf Basis von Agrarreststoffen wie Stroh für Wasch-, Putz- und Reinigungsmittel erweitert. Seit Anfang des Jahres wird sunliquid® Bio-Ethanol im Frosch® Bio-Spiritus Multiflächen-Reiniger eingesetzt. Dafür lieferte Clariant bereits Ende 2015 den Zellulose-Ethanol, sprich Bio-Spiritus aus ihrer vorkommerziellen Anlage in Straubing, in der im Jahr bis zu 1000 Tonnen Zellulose-Ethanol mithilfe des sunliquid®-Verfahrens hergestellt werden.

Clariant to Expand Global Manufacturing of Masterbatches for Engineering and High-Temperature Resins
Muttenz, February 18, 2016 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announced plans to invest more than CHF 7.5 million in specialized equipment and facilities to expand the capabilities and capacities for the production of color and additive masterbatches for use in engineering resins and high-temperature plastics like PEEK (polyether ether ketone). The largest investment has been earmarked for plants in Shanghai, Singapore, and at two plants in the U.S.A.

AbuDhabi Police Sign Agreement with Belden to Secure Future Networking Solutions
