Gigabit Ethernet via M12 Ports
Belden präsentiert mit dem neuen Gigabit OCTOPUS aus seinem Hirschmann™-Produktprogramm einen managed IP54 Switch, der insbesondere für Anwendungen in Schienen- und Kraftfahrzeugen entwickelt wurde, die eine schnelle Datenverbindung erfordern. Dazu hat dieser Switch zwei Gigabit Ethernet-Uplinks für Twisted Pair-Kabel (1000 BASE-TX), die über vibrationssichere M12-Ports angeschlossen werden. Für die Anbindung von Endgeräten stehen acht Fast Ethernet-Ports (10/100 BASE-TX) zur Verfügung, die ebenfalls für M12-Stecker ausgelegt sind und zudem PoE unterstützen. Dadurch können etwa IP-Kameras, Voice-over-IP-Telefone oder WLAN-Access-Points ohne zusätzliche Kabel mit Strom versorgt werden. Außerdem bietet der Switch sowohl verschiedene Management- und Security-Funktionen als auch schnelle Redundanzverfahren. Damit lassen sich in Verkehrsmitteln hochverfügbare Gigabit-Backbones installieren, die beispielsweise den Passagieren während der Fahrt einen schnellen Internetzugang ermöglichen.

DSM Engineering Plastics invests for growth in Specialty Polyamides
DSM is to make further investments in its Kaohsiung polymerization facility in Taiwan to upgrade and develop the company’s Specialty Polyamide capabilities for its Novamid® and Akulon® Polyamide engineering plastic business. The Kaohsiung site has been a part of DSM since 2010 and already produces specialty Polyamide 6 and 6/66 materials for its Novamid product line.

Januar 2012 – Moog, ein führender Anbieter von hochleistungsfähigen Systemen und Produkten für Automobil- und Flugzeugtests, hat auf der Grundlage seiner unlängst auf den Markt gebrachten hydraulischen Test-Aktuatoren einen hydraulischen Simulationstisch entwickelt. Dieser ist wesentlich leistungsfähiger als ein konventionelles orthogonales System, bei dem ein Tisch von Aktuatoren bewegt wird, die an den Seiten und am Sockel des Tischs montiert sind. Der hydraulische Simulationstisch von Moog ist ein Sechs-Achsen-Hexapod mit zwei gleichseitigen dreieckigen Rahmen, die um 30 Grad versetzt übereinander angeordnet sind. Die Spitzen des oberen Dreieckrahmens sind jeweils über die hydraulischen Test-Aktuatoren von Moog mit hydrostatischen Lagern mit den zwei darunterliegenden Spitzen verbunden.

DSM DYNEEMA SUCCESSFULLY RESOLVES PATENT INFRINGEMENT DISPUTE IN THE UK
The Netherlands, January 31, 2012 - DSM Dyneema has announced that it has successfully concluded its patent infringement dispute with Miclin Ltd. and J&D Wilkie Ltd. (Kirriemuir/UK), trading under the Jack Ellis brand. The case, which was brought before the Patents Court of the High Court in London, resulted in a settlement, details of which were not made public.
