SABIC to Showcase at Plastpol Advanced Materials and Application Development Expertise for Poland’s Established and Emerging Growth Sectors
Kielce, Poland – 24 May 2011 – At Plastpol 2011, the SABIC family of plastics businesses – including Polymers and Innovative Plastics – will showcase their expanding array of advanced material solutions for the Polish market. These innovative technologies have been designed for Polish customers in both established and new market sectors, including infrastructure, packaging, electrical/electronics, consumer goods, lighting and fluid engineering. As part of its comprehensive offering to Polish customers, SABIC also provides a strong local team and extensive resources. These include a logistical centre in Kutno for reliable, local supply of materials; and a Fluid Engineering Centre of Excellence in The Netherlands in close proximity to help customers find the right material solutions throughout the application development cycle -- from concept through production. BELDEN ERWEITERT SEIN HIRSCHMANN™-PRODUKTPROGRAMM UM DEN OZD PROFI G12 ATEX 1
Belden präsentiert mit dem Hirschmann™ OZD Profi G12 ATEX 1 einen Profibus-LWL-Repeater mit Zulassungen für die Explosionsschutzzonen 1 und 2 sowie 21 und 22. Die optischen Ports sind zudem op-is zertifiziert. Der Repeater, der eine Übertragungsrate von bis zu 12 Mbit/s bietet, ist wahlweise mit einem Edelstahlgehäuse oder einem Kunststoffgehäuse erhältlich. Außerdem wird das optische Funktionsmodul – mit eigener Ex-Zulassung – auch ohne Umgehäuse angeboten. Somit kann es zusammen mit anderen Geräten platzsparend in einem gemeinsamen Gehäuse montiert werden. Über Signalstärkeausgänge, die in das Prozessleitsystem eingebunden werden können, lässt sich die optische Leistung des LWL-Repeaters permanent überwachen. Da der Hirschmann™ OZD Profi G12 ATEX 1 zudem Ring-Redundanz unterstützt, können jetzt in explosionsgefährdeten Umgebungen, wie sie beispielsweise im Öl- und Gasbereich oder in bestimmten Bereichen der Lebensmittelindustrie vorkommen, hochverfügbare Profibusnetze in Ring- oder Linientopologie realisiert werden.

First All-Plastic Front-end Module on Chinese-developed Vehicle Using SABIC Innovative Plastics’ STAMAX® Polypropylene Resin Featured at Shanghai Auto Show
SHANGHAI, China – May 20, 2011 – The first Chinese-developed model vehicle with an all-plastic front-end module (FEM) using SABIC Innovative Plastics’ STAMAX® long glass fiber polypropylene (LGFPP) resin was displayed at the recently concluded 14th annual Shanghai Auto Show. Chang’an Automobile Co., one of China’s largest automakers, featured the all-plastic FEM at the show in a stripped down version of its CX30 model. This major application uses STAMAX LGFPP resin from SABIC Innovative Plastics to replace steel, cutting part weight by up to 40 percent and total vehicle weight by about four kilograms. In addition to weight reduction for improved fuel economy and lower emissions, the all-plastic FEM solution reduces overall system costs for Chang’an by enabling modular assembly for improved efficiency on its production line. This recent work with Chang’an illustrates SABIC Innovative Plastics’ ability to support automotive OEMs as they strive to develop lighter vehicles for improved fuel economy and lower emissions, while also lowering overall costs.

Mai 2011 – Songwon Industrial, einer der weltweit führenden Anbieter von Additiven für die Kunststoffindustrie, hat für seine Songnox® Antioxidantien, Songlight® und Songsorb® UV-Stabilisatoren, Songstab™ Säurefänger sowie seine verschiedenen Amino-Antioxidantien eine Erhöhung der Preise um 15 bis 20% für ab dem 1. Juni 2011 in Rechnung gestellte Bestellungen bzw. zum frühestmöglichen vertraglichen Zeitpunkt angekündigt. Grund für diese Preiserhöhung sind gestiegene Rohstoffkosten sowie verstärkte Investitionen zur Verbesserung der Lieferzuverlässigkeit.
