Borealis Vorstand mit neuer Struktur

• Henry Sperle übernimmt Verantwortung für Groß-Investitionen im Nahen Osten und in Europa
Borealis, ein führender Anbieter innovativer, hochwertiger Kunststoffe, gibt die neue Struktur seines Vorstands bekannt. Mit 1. Januar trat Mark Garrett offiziell die Nachfolge von John Taylor als Vorstandsvorsitzender an. Unterstützt wird er von den beiden langjährigen Borealis-Vorständen Herbert Willerth, der als Executive Vice President (EVP, Vorstandsmitglied) weiterhin den Bereich Produktion leitet, und Henry Sperle, der nach mehrjähriger Leitung des Bereichs Hydrocarbonat die neue Funktion eines EVP für den Nahen Osten und Asien übernimmt. Vor kurzem ernannt wurden zwei weitere Vorstandsmitglieder: Martin Kuzaj zum Vorstandsmitglied für den neu formierten Geschäftsbereich Basis-Chemikalien und Daniel J. Shook zum Chief Financial Officer (CFO, Finanzvorstand). Derzeit nicht besetzt ist der Vorstandsposten für Polyolefine, der bis zur Ernennung eines neuen Vorstandsmitglieds durch den CEO wahrgenommen wird.

CHEMTURA RAISES PRICES ON REOFOS® BAPP FLAME RETARDANT
Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) announces an off-list price increase of $0.50/ kg for its Reofos® BAPP flame retardant, effective January 15, 2008, or where contracts allow. The price increase is in addition to the previously announced price increase effective October 15, 2007.

Rohm and Haas Opens Sanshui Manufacturing Facility in Guangdong, China
Shanghai, January 8, 2008 – Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE:ROH), the leading supplier of binders and additives for the global paint and coatings industry, today officially launched the initial operations of its new manufacturing plant in Sanshui, Guangdong Province, China. To date, the company has invested approximately US$10 million in this site, which will make products based on acrylic emulsion technology. This is a significant milestone for Rohm and Haas’ strategic footprint in China and further demonstrates the company’s commitment to the South China coatings market.

PPG completes acquisition of SigmaKalon Group
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 2, 2008 – PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) today announced that it had completed the acquisition of SigmaKalon Group, a worldwide coatings producer based in Uithoorn, Netherlands, from global private investment firm Bain Capital. The total transaction value, including assumed debt, was approximately €2.2 billion (US$3.2 billion). The company expects to add approximately $3 billion in sales annually as a result of the acquisition.

RJ21“翔鳳”採用PPG航空塗料
