Borealis, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, will invest EUR 370 million in Stenungsund, Sweden, enhancing its capability to provide advanced materials for the growing wire and cable market, as well as for the Nordic packaging market.

Borealis Rekordgewinn im Jahr 2006 – Großinvestition in Produktionsanlage in Schweden
Der Kunststoffhersteller Borealis steigerte im Jahr 2006 den Nettogewinn um 45 Prozent auf EUR 327 Millionen und konnte damit das beste Ergebnis in der Unternehmensgeschichte erzielen. Neben den derzeit laufenden Investitionen in Forschung und Entwicklung – etwa der Ausbau des internationalen Innovation Centre in Linz und die Errichtung einer Borstar Polypropylen-Versuchsanlage in Schwechat – in der Größenordnung von mehr als 100 Millionen Euro wird in Schweden mit einem Aufwand von 370 Millionen Euro eine neue Produktionsanlage errichtet; ein umfangreiches Erweiterungsprogramm sorgt für Wachstum im Nahen Osten und in Asien.

PPG announces athletic footwear coatings application center in southern China Center for unique, flexible coatings to begin operation in April
PORTLAND, Ore., March 20, 2007 – PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) announced today at the NW Apparel and Footwear Materials Show here that it is opening a state-of-the-art painting services facility in Pingshan, near Shenzhen in southern China. Expected to begin operation in April, the facility will enable PPG to demonstrate the capabilities and benefits of the VIVAFLEX color system for designers and manufacturers of athletic footwear.

Hyundai approves PPG refinish products for its global dealership body and paint program
STRONGSVILLE, Ohio, March 20, 2007 – The Hyundai Motor Company has named PPG Industries an approved aftermarket supplier for its new “Hyundai Global Body and Paint Program.” As part of the agreement, PPG will provide its PPG and Nexa Autocolor refinish brands, including the popular PPG Global Refinish System, Deltron and Nexa Autocolor 2K lines, as well as Envirobase and Aquabase waterborne basecoat systems, to Hyundai dealerships and their authorized repair partners.

Chemtura Announces European Price Increase on Tin Stabilizers
Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) announce a 15% increase on the selling price of their tin stabilizer range in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, effective 1st April 2007 or as contract terms permit. The increase, valid for all pack sizes, is driven by unexpected tight tin metal product supply and the dramatic increase in tin-metal costs over the last 12 months, and in particular over the last two months.
