Eastman Expands CHDM Capacity
CAPELLE A/D IJSSEL, THE NETHERLANDS - Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE:EMN) has announced an expansion project that will enable the doubling of CHDM capacity at its Kingsport, Tenn., site. The project will come on-line in late 2006.

Februar 2006 ― ESTECH präsentiert ein neues chirurgisches Instrument, das mit dem neuen hämokompatiblen1 Lexan* HPM 1914-Polycarbonat (PC)-Kunststoff von GE hergestellt wird. ESTECH ist ein Hersteller von chirurgischen Instrumenten für die Kardiologie mit Sitz in Kalifornien und entschied sich bei dem Paddel an seinem neuen ClearView MV™ Einweg-Vorhof-Depressors für das GE-Material, um eine möglichst hohe Produktzuverlässigkeit und Biokompatibilität2 bei Verfahren zur minimal invasiven Mitralklappenreparatur und -erneuerung zu erreichen. Die Lexan HPM-Kunststoffe von GE bieten ESTECH und anderen Herstellern von medizinischem Gerät neben den typische Leistungsmerkmalen von Polycarbonat (PC) eine Reihe neuer Eigenschaften, wie bessere Hämokompatibilität1, geringere Proteinbindungsneigung sowie bessere Schlagzähigkeit bei niedrigen Temperaturen und verbesserte Verarbeitbarkeit durch erhöhte Fließfähig- und Entformbarkeit.

DSM ENGINEERING PLASTICS INCREASES AKULON PRICES
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (February 2, 2006) In an effort to offset the escalating cost of raw materials, energy and transportation, DSM Engineering Plastics will increase prices for Akulon® polyamide 6 extrusion grades by $0.06 lb. in the US, Canada and Mexico. This increase will take effect as of January 15, 2006.
