Dies ist über die Länge einer Sporthalle mit normaler Befensterung eher schwer zu erreichen. Dennoch, und obwohl die bebaute Fläche der Buchwiesen-Sporthalle unter der Bodengleiche liegt, wurde der geforderte Tageslichtquotient über die gesamte Hallenfläche hin- weg erfüllt und zur Mitte hin sogar etwas übertroffen. Testmessungen am Ort der ersten europäischen Installation von Nanogel® transparenten Aerogel-Tageslichtelementen in einer Schulsporthalle in Buchwiesen, Zürich, haben die positiven Erwartungen des Architekten, Arnold Amsler, voll erfüllt. Die Halle profitiert von der gleichmäßig hellen Lichtstreuung der Paneele und bietet den Benutzern im Winter wie im Sommer ein dauerhaft behagliches Raumklima.
