Borealis continues to improve its financial performance in first quarter 2004
Following a positive fourth quarter 2003 result, Borealis continued to improve in the first quarter of 2004, reporting an operating profit of EUR 56 million. This compared favourably to last year’s first quarter operating loss of EUR 12 million, which had been adversely impacted by a EUR 17 million restructuring charge. Net profit after tax grew to EUR 38 million.

GREAT LAKES INCREASES PRICES OF ALL BROMINE AND PHOSPHORUS SPECIALTY CHEMICALS
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA—Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced it will increase prices worldwide by up to 20 percent for all bromine and phosphorus based specialty chemicals within its Polymer Additives division, with the exception of phosphite antioxidants, effective for shipments May 24, 2004, or as contracts allow. These price increases are in addition to all other increases previously announced.

Paul brings cross sector experience to Univar's European business processes and supply chain management techniques. He has spent 4 years managing the UK Chemicals business for Univar including a supply chain redesign and the successful migration of the former UK Ellis and Everard business into Univar Ltd, creating an enlarged business with the strongest specialty and industrial chemicals offering in the market.

Univar signs contract to provide chemical distribution and sourcing of all DSM European operations
Rotterdam, The Netherlands – May 1, 2004 – Univar Europe, a business unit of Univar N.V., the leading chemical distributor in the world, has been named a preferred distributor/supplier in Europe for DSM, the leading worldwide supplier of life science and nutritional products, performance materials and industrial chemicals. The contract builds on strongly optimising the Total Cost of Ownership and covers all European sites of DSM. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
