BERGEN OP ZOOM, die Niederlande - 2. Feb, 2004 - Im 51. Jahr seit der Entdeckung von LEXAN® Polycarbonat (PC) durch den GE-Wissenschaftler Dr. Daniel W. Fox erweitert GE Advanced Materials das Produktangebot auf der Basis dieser äußerst vielseitigen Polymertechnologie erneut und ergänzt das Portfolio durch zwei zäh modifizierte PC/Siloxan-Polymere: LEXAN EXL 9112 und EXL 1434. Beide Materialien vereinen umweltverträgliche Flammwidrigkeit mit hoher Fließfähigkeit, weit reichender Chemikalienverträglichkeit und erhöhter Witterungsbeständigkeit. Sie eignen sich insbesondere für tragbare und multifunktionale Elektronikgeräte, wie im Bereich der Telekommunikations- und Computeranwendungen. GREAT LAKES INCREASES ANTIMONY TRIOXIDE FLAME RETARDANT PRICES
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA—Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced that effective for shipments after March 29, 2004, where contracts allow, the company will increase the price for all grades of antimony trioxide by $0.15/lb in the Americas and by $330/MT in Europe and the Asia Pacific region. The price for other antimony derivatives will also increase dependent upon antimony content. This price increase is in addition to the increase of $0.25/lb in the Americas and $550/MT in Europe and the Asia Pacific region that took effect January 23, 2004.
