Leading food colour supplier Anstead International promotes depth of expertise to broader audience

A world-class supplier of food colours, Anstead International is continuing to build reputation and market share. Following the acquisition by Royal Vopak of its parent company Ellis & Everard earlier this year, Anstead International is benefiting from the greater strength and resources of a global leader in distribution and logistics.

The Anstead International name is well-known in the food colours market where it has operated for more than 40 years. However, the company is now proactively engaged with reaching an even wider audience with the recent publication of its dedicated food colours brochure. Among the world’s top ten in its specialist field, the company supplies colours used in a broad range of products from soft drinks to sweets and from cake decorations to pre-prepared meals, in markets that reach from Europe to Latin America and the Far East.

While essentially a distributor to core industry sectors such as pharmaceutical and personal care, Anstead International does market its own branded colour products under the well-established Edicol brand name. This is based around the company’s dedicated colours facility located at Billericay, UK, which incorporates materials quality testing and product development laboratories.

In addition to the supply of basic food colours Anstead also undertakes product customisation, creating special, non-standard colours for customers, as well as producing colours in dispersion which are then delivered to food and confectionary manufacturers as semi-finished products.

Kevin Barrance, Business Manager Colours for Anstead International explains: “We can tailor virtually any product to meet customers’ requirements. We have both the facilities and considerable experience in product customisation for many of the food and beverage brand leaders in the global marketplace.

“Promoting a better understanding of the depth and breadth of Anstead’s expertise in all aspects of food colours was a driving reason for the new company brochure,” he says.

Although based in the United Kingdom, product exports account for the significant majority of Anstead Internationals’ colour business. The company’s largest volume overseas market is the Far East which is supported by a distribution centre in Singapore, responsible for repacking, re-labelling and onwards distribution to local markets within the region and beyond.
