TE Connectivity attends 2018 China International Industry Fair (CIIF)

30 Years of Connecting China, Enabling Factories of the Future by Providing Productive Solutions

DARMSTADT, Germany – September 19, 2018 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, will showcase four innovative solutions at the 2018 IAS-CIIF tradeshow at booth B053, National Exhibition and Convention Center, Hongqiao District, Shanghai. The solutions cover Renewable Energy Application, Motor Connectivity, Servo Drive and Industrial Robots. Adapting to the special requirements of smart factories, these solutions address challenges in the progress of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing, and facilitate the transformation and upgrade of Chinese factories. In particular, the newly acquired ENTRELEC terminal block business from ABB will make its debut at this Fair. This will demonstrate TE’s strong capability in product development and innovation, helping customers embrace the new era and promotes Chinese factories’ transition to smart manufacturing automation and digitalization. TE enables the current megatrends of China’s manufacturing industry, that are embraced as China’s strategic plans to upgrade the entire Chinese industry by building smart factories. A variety of key automation technologies and advanced products keep emerging with the growth of smart manufacturing and Internet Plus.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of TE Connectivity in China. During the past 30 years, TE is making progress together with China’s industry market. With continuous investments in hardware and training of local talents, TE works directly with local customers to launch more innovative R&D programs, which are dedicated to creating a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future. As technologies and products are constantly being upgraded, TE devotes to developing sensor and connectivity solutions that can meet the most cutting-edge production needs of all industry sectors.

Smart factories of the future
Nowadays, given the increased volume of data involved in a factory, it is essential to have reliable transfer connections at the highest possible speeds. Further advances can only be achieved through faster and more precise feedback and control. An example of this is TE’s servo drive solution, offering integrated and efficient connection solutions for power, signal and data communication. Additionally, Industrial RJ45 connectors can offer excellent EMI protection along with PCB space saving and cost efficiency, which makes it the best option for servo drive.

In addition, TE’s motor connectivity solutions are applicable for almost all types of industrial motor connections. For example, Intercontec connectors are available in different installation types such as quick-connect safety fastener and single-flange installation. Its user-friendly operating mechanism enables a fast connection and shortens assembly time as well

To adapt to the new trend in the smart manufacturing industry, TE introduces industrial robots solutions to produce industrial robots. High reliability, precision and energy efficiency are the highlights of industrial robots made with TE products. Heavy duty connectors can ensure data, signal and power connection in harsh environmental conditions. Its modular and standard interface can maximize application efficiency and meet the requirements from robot arms to control cabinets.

With the integration of the ENTRELEC terminal block business into TE’s competitive product portfolios, TE will be able to provide a more comprehensive system of power, signal and data connection to address connection needs in harsh environments. This acquisition reflects an investment strategy of active management, which will also be a key factor in TE’s next-stage strategies.

Smart connection for future energy
Due to its outstanding advantages, renewable energy has become a key area in energy strategies in all countries. With the new electric vehicle (NEV) development in China, a “green” transformation is approaching all the related industrial sectors. Under such circumstances, TE’s renewable energy application solution aim to provide all-in-one connection technologies to renewable energy related sectors including automotive manufacturing and energy storage, ranging from power generation to end-user application. Focusing on upgrade of products and technologies in renewable energy applications, TE provides customized one-package solutions to customers in power generation, energy storage and power recharge.

At the 2018 IAS-CIIF, in addition to exhibiting solutions on smart manufacturing, TE also invites the press and professional audience to the tradeshow. On the morning of the first-day exhibition, a live broadcast with VR experiences provides a unique way of participation for the audience who are not able to attend the show. “From big data, IoT, wearable devices to 5G technology, we have kept launching innovative products to meet the rapidly rising market demand. Being customer-oriented, TE is committed to providing customers with connectivity products featuring higher reliability, efficiency and convenience. We will continue to work closely with partners from all business sectors to facilitate the progress of our industrial customers in the Chinese market,” said Mr. Guanghua Yang, vice president and general manager, Industrial BU Systems, TE Connectivity.
