Syensqo brings aromatic compounding capability to India

New line at Panoli site will support growing automotive demand with flexible, local sourcing

Brussels, September 3, 2026 - Syensqo, a global leader in high-performance materials, is investing in a new compounding line for high-performance aromatic polymers at its Panoli site in India, strengthening its ability to serve customers in one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive markets.

Planned to be operational by Q1 2028, the new line will double Syensqo’s current compounding capacity at Panoli and will be the first asset in a modular compounding hub designed to provide flexibility across Syensqo’s aromatic polymers portfolio. It will be capable of compounding a broad range of materials, including Ryton® polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), KetaSpire® polyetheretherketone (PEEK), Amodel® polyphthalamide (PPA) and Ixef® polyarylamide (PARA), allowing Syensqo to adapt production efficiently as customer and market needs evolve.

The investment strengthens Syensqo’s supply capabilities in India, serving local and global automotive manufacturers and suppliers while also addressing opportunities in other industries. It also aligns with the broader localization of manufacturing and supply chains encouraged by the Government of India’s Make in India initiative.

Syensqo’s aromatic polymers are used in demanding automotive applications where high-temperature and chemical resistance, mechanical performance and lightweighting are critical.

“India is an important growth market for high-performance polymers, particularly as the automotive industry continues to localize and adopt more advanced material solutions,” said Tom Wood, VP Product and Asset Manager at Syensqo. “By bringing compounding capacity closer to our customers, we can respond more quickly and efficiently to their evolving needs while offering greater flexibility across our aromatics portfolio.”

The investment builds on Syensqo’s established manufacturing and Research & Innovation presence in India and reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting market and customer growth across Asia Pacific.

Ryton®, KetaSpire®, Amodel® and Ixef® is a registered trademark of Syensqo.
