BERGAMID® polyamide from PolyOne provides the right connection for Abex

Abex is one of Poland's leading manufacturers of electrical accessories for industrial power control systems. As an existing PolyOne customer, Abex knew exactly who to turn to for help in selecting the correct material for a new 380V 32 Amp power connector they were developing.

It is no surprise that polyamide was chosen, as it is used in many electrical applications. However, the desired combination of properties and the need for consistently high quality made BERGAMID polyamide the obvious choice.

PolyOne engineers in Poland worked with Abex and with the product development team at PolyOne Th. Bergmann GmbH, a ‘centre of excellence’ for polyamide. They optimized the basic polyamide grade to match the flow requirements for the part and to maximize productivity, while still meeting the stringent requirements for the material's electrical and physical properties. Once the formulations were finalized, BERGAMID polyamide was then delivered in both red and grey, to give the customer color consistency.

This successful co-operation between PolyOne and Abex clearly illustrates how PolyOne's expertise and product range can be called on to supply solutions for virtually any application.
