Two Key Executive Appointments at Omnexus

ATLANTA (Jan. 3, 2001) – Omnexus announced two key executive appointments today as the global plastics eMarketplace builds momentum to begin 2002. Current COO Michael Walsh has assumed the role of Interim CEO after participating in the leadership of the company’s day-to-day operations since August 2000, and current Omnexus board member Dr. Reinhard Katz has been elevated to the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Maintaining the title of Chief Operating Officer, in addition to his expanded role as Interim CEO, Walsh will continue to drive the implementation of key business initiatives as Omnexus begins the 2002 business year. Walsh joined Omnexus with more than 21 years of experience in financial and management positions, and has overseen operations among all Omnexus departments since Fall 2001. Under Walsh’s leadership, Omnexus successfully launched in both North America and Europe, acquired over 15,000 global members, and was named one of Forbes “2001 Best of the Web”.

Reinhard Katz, Senior Vice-President of BASF AG, Ludwigshafen, Germany, assumes the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors and also serves as the board representative for BASF, a founding member of Omnexus. Katz will provide executive guidance on strategy to build upon the aggressive pace of growth achieved by Omnexus in 2001.

In their interim capacities, Walsh and Katz replace Peter Dunning, who resigned as CEO of Omnexus in December 2001 to accept a position with an Atlanta-based software company. The Omnexus Board of Directors expects to announce permanent appointments in the next six to ten weeks.
