J. Thorne King appointed Omnexus CTO

ATLANTA (July 9, 2002) – Global plastics eMarketplace Omnexus has appointed J. Thorne King as Chief Technology Officer. Prior to his new post, King led the company’s IT efforts, specifically focusing on new functionality design and software enhancements.

In his new role, King will continue to lead the daily operations of the Omnexus technology staff while expanding his duties to oversee the company’s long-term technological strategy as a member of the executive leadership team. King joined Omnexus in August 2000 as one of the company’s first employees after a successful 20-year career at DuPont, an Omnexus founding member.

King succeeds Bill Murphy in the post of CTO. Murphy came to Omnexus in April 2001 to oversee the development of the company’s technology infrastructure.

King was selected as an original member of the Omnexus team representing DuPont, one of the company’s founding members along with Bayer, BASF, Dow and Ticona. His career with DuPont included more than 20 years serving in various functions, including manufacturing, product development and strategic planning.
