New Omnexus commerce center opens Emarketing opportunities to sellers, brings added value to plastics industry buyers
Unique Concept Opens New Marketing Channel to the Plastics Industry
ATLANTA (June 3, 2002) – Expanding upon the company’s existing raw materials and equipment offerings, Omnexus has launched its new Commerce Center, an online presentation of industry products and services within the global plastics eMarketplace that extends the benefits of the industry’s most comprehensive online plastics resource to a growing audience of buyers and sellers.
The Commerce Center opens a new marketing channel for companies to take advantage of growing eBusiness opportunities within a global plastics industry that is rapidly moving its business processes online. The Commerce Center allows companies targeting the plastics industry to draw from the traffic created by the eMarketplace’s ‘anchor’ suppliers, including founders BASF, Bayer, Dow, DuPont and Ticona.
"The Omnexus Commerce Center offers an effective way for manufacturers such as NOVA Chemicals, to reach the growing number of designers and molders who are coming to the Internet, and specifically to Omnexus, to exchange their ideas and conduct their business," said Greg Wilkinson, Business Director, NAS® and ZYLAR® for NOVA Chemicals. "Omnexus provides many different e-tools to help us build awareness of our high-performance styrenics products. Our presence in the Commerce Center is providing real leads and valuable contacts."
The Commerce Center offers participating companies several key benefits through its prime location in the Omnexus eMarketplace:
Customer Reach – access to Omnexus members, a large, qualified audience of plastics industry buyers and decision-makers
New Market Reach/Affordability – The most affordable way to effectively open new markets in North America, Europe, or specific geographical locations within either, to extend products and services to a growing audience
Comprehensive Content – Links to a wide variety of services, news and technical information created for the plastics industry, available in one place
Reliability – The security and stability of the Omnexus online system, powered by the industry’s most advanced technology
The Omnexus Commerce Center increases the number of products and services available to the eMarketplace’s members by offering them direct, centralized access to an unlimited variety of plastics-related companies. Omnexus currently counts more than 17,000 members in its growing community base, who use the site to order resins, source plastics products including equipment, conduct technical research and stay abreast of the latest industry news.
“The new Commerce Center is another example of how Omnexus is expanding its eMarketing services to bring value to its members,“ said Michael J. Walsh, interim CEO of Omnexus. “The Commerce Center also provides benefits to a variety of suppliers, by letting them tap into a large, and continually growing, audience of global plastics professionals.”
The Omnexus Commerce Center is one of several new features added to Omnexus recently, including the surPLUS Center, a searchable catalog containing the listings of excess inventory from a variety of well-known, branded resin suppliers; and the TechCenter, a global knowledge management system that puts plastics processors in direct contact with technical experts from multiple suppliers.
