Omnexus launches new Europe-Specific online enhancements

Omnexus (www.omnexus.com) the global plastics eMarketplace, has announced the introduction of major enhancements that significantly increase usability and functional efficiency for European users.

Central to the Europe-specific service enhancements to be launched online on 19 March, will be site availability in French, German and Spanish, thereby extending the value of this dynamic marketplace to a broader audience by giving greater depth of accessibility to plastics industry professionals than has previously been possible with a single-language site.

“This added customisation of the site for key segments of the European plastics market, including the United Kingdom, is the next step in our globalisation plan,” says Omnexus CEO, Peter Dunning. “Omnexus has had global reach and global response from day-one of going ‘live’ online in October, 2000, but our programme is to truly ‘globalise’, not just through the provision of global connectivity, but in combination with users’ access to a stream of

industry-related news and information, and the possibility to seek products and solutions, and transact business locally in key market languages.”

And, according to Dunning: “The implementation of these added-value enhancements in Europe not only confirms our commitment to the global plastics industry, but it is an indication of the success of Omnexus and of the market’s increasing demand for the unique service it delivers.”

In inaugurating its new ‘Europe access’ option, Omnexus will follow the same, now proven roll-out procedure it adopted for its original global launch in October of last year, that led by stages to full transactional capability in the USA in November. This involves a phased introduction to enable customers to efficiently conduct transactions with their existing suppliers while at the same time experiencing an environment of greatly increased supplier choice. During the initial phase, users can enter the Omnexus site and register in their native or preferred language to access and evaluate the broadest spectrum of products available within their own country.

Users will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the sites features and advantages, reviewing online product catalogues from the world’s leading resin suppliers, and carrying out product searches and polymer comparisons based on a full range of performance parameters – supported by documentation such as MSDS, COAs, and regulatory compliance listings. In addition, they will have access to content such as a daily industry news service and plastics technology related features and events’ information.

In the third quarter of this year Omnexus will go ‘live’ with full online business transactional capability in each of its European language formats. This will include multi-currency purchasing facilities and aggregated, electronic invoicing, order tracking and comprehensive customer services.

At that time, all European elements of the site will also begin to roll-out a full complement of directly associated services relating to both primary and auxiliary processing equipment, tooling and MRO providers. Moreover, with full functionality, Omnexus will be able to competently accommodate ERP integration in the customer’s language.

Online since October, 2000, Omnexus provides a uniquely supported global e-marketplace in which customers are enabled to source products and transact business that encompasses resins, additives, colourants, compounds, tooling, equipment and all related services, with optimum speed and efficiency and the highest degree of confidence.
