April 5, 2000 - Joint Announcement of BASF, Bayer, DOW Chemical, DuPont and Ticona/Celanese that they have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to form a neutral business-to-business online marketplace focused on delivering products and related services to plastics injection molders around the globe.
June 20, 2000 - Omnexus™: The e-Marketplace for Injection Molders is Launched, Omnexus™ (www.omnexus.com) announcing October 2 as date to have the site up and running.
October 2, 2000 - Phase One of launch of US Omnexus™ site - beginning phased approach to enable customers and suppliers to efficiently conduct transactions. Specialized catalog and plastics industry content available.
November 30, 2000 - Omnexus site conducts first transactions.
December 5, 2000 - First transaction by any marketplace where customer purchases directly from multiple suppliers in the same transaction.
February 13, 2001 - Omnexus selects the leader in eBusiness software for industrial machinery BigMachines – offering Omnexus members the ability to search for plastics processing equipment across a selection of possible suppliers using BigMachines’ parametric search functionality.
