OMNEXUS COMPLIES WITH LATEST CHEMICAL INDUSTRY GROUP ELECTRONIC MESSAGING STANDARDS

ATLANTA (May 6, 2002) – Global plastics eMarketplace Omnexus announced today that it supports the most recent Chemical Industry Data Exchange (CIDX) messaging standards, version 2.02.

Comprised of multiple chemical companies, several marketplaces and service providers, CIDX formed the Chem eStandards™ initiative to promote standardization of XML-based data exchanges in an industry quickly moving to an eBusiness environment. The successful launch of the Chem eStandards latest release, version 2.02, allows Omnexus to communicate at the deepest possible level with the more than 20 suppliers on its advanced eProcurement platform.

As Omnexus evolves its own technology to remain at the forefront of eBusiness growth, it has also helped to define the Chem eStandards. The company’s involvement with CIDX has led to the organization’s adoption of two Omnexus-developed data structures for pricing and availability messages. The structures will be incorporated in version 3.0 of the Chem eStandards, to be released in June 2002.
