MachinePoint Affiliates Network expanded by signing up PackBizz
MachinePoint Ltd. has expanded its Affiliates network by signing an alliance with the packaging marketplace PackBizz from Holland, to provide surplus equipment services to PackBizz’s clients. As part of the agreement, PackBizz’s customers will be able to liquidate and purchase their idle equipment, taking advantage of MachinePoint’s resources.
The packaging industry is a relatively fragmented industry, plagued by much inefficiency. By providing a common platform for buyers and sellers of packaging, Packbizz aims to assist both parties in eliminating those inefficiencies. The company started with flexible packaging, but folding cartons followed in November and it is planned that at least one additional packaging sector will be rolled out each month.
PackBizz founder Werner Stapela already had plans to expand his site with packaging machinery within the next three years. ‘But because of the strategic alliance with MachinePoint we can offer this service to our clients immediately and at relatively low costs.’
PackBizz (www.packbizz.com) is the first independent packaging materials marketplace on the Internet. It enables buyers and sellers of packaging to meet, request prices, make offers, place orders and confirm them. Automatic payment systems and supply chain support systems, which integrate with existing systems, are being developed.
‘For MachinePoint the Affiliates Program is a success, not only because we were able to sign up PackBizz, but also several other companies’, says Etienne Cartuyvels, who’s responsible for the program. ‘It’s increasing traffic to our site, raising MachinePoint’s profile on the Internet and in the industry, and providing a positive way of forming alliances. The program has many advantages for the affiliates, such as earning revenues, adding content to their site and service diversification which are the key to its success. The program is very flexible and designed to provide solutions that best meet affiliates needs and potential.’
In the Affiliates programme the affiliate web site either carries a banner, with links to the Machine Point site, or the two web sites present an interactive interface that effectively merges the affiliate site with that of Machine Point, on an exclusive basis. Visitor traffic is tracked and profits from sales to visitors arriving via an Affiliate link is shared. In addition to extra revenue, Affiliates achieve added value for their web site at no extra cost, as participation is free for qualifying sites.
Affiliates who have signed-up represent a range of activities, including trade magazines, consult ancy agencies, trade associations, raw materials suppliers, vertical and horizontal portals, packaging suppliers and virtual shopping centres. Geographically, affiliates are based in Europe, Asia and both North and South America.
