• The world’s first 2 megapixel System-on-Chip (SOC) wafer-level reflowable camera module and a compact 5 megapixel SOC autofocus camera module
• Seamless touch screen integration
• Smart Navi-Key solutions for navigation, personalization and security
• Pico embedded projection engines for the next generation cell phones
New Jabil products and technologies to be announced and featured at Mobile World Congress
System-on-Chip Camera Modules – Jabil | Green Point has developed two SOC embedded camera modules targeting a range of sectors in the portable device market. The MD6054A, a compact 5 megapixel SOC camera with autofocus, addresses consumer demand for high-end optics; while the PW3625A, the first 2 megapixel SOC reflowable wafer-level camera module, targets small, low-cost mobile phones. Both provide an onboard image signal processor and a CMOS image sensor.
Seamless Touch Screen Integration – As the next generation of design replacing traditional recessed and step-less A-cover handset design, this industry-leading technology provides seamless integration of the touch screen into a flat or curved cover for a sleek, elegant look combined with practical durability and protection.
Smart Navi-Key Products – This turnkey solution combines input control functions with one-touch fingerprint security, data privacy and user personalization functions into a highly durable keypad solution. It includes the fingerprint sensor from AuthenTec, the world's leading provider of smart fingerprint sensors and solutions, and a durable keymat from Sunarrow, a leading provider of innovative keymat technologies. The all-in-one keypad is manufactured by Jabil | Green Point for easy integration into smart phones, PDAs and other mobile devices.
Pico Projector Solutions – For this growing market, Jabil has developed two embedded modules that offer the world’s smallest dimensions, lowest power consumption and highest brightness. As the world’s smallest pico engine for cell phones, the EPE-CP embedded projection engine can be easily integrated into a cell phone. The EPEM50 embedded projection engine module is intended as an integrated component for standalone projectors or consumer electronics applications such as netbooks or notebooks.
Keymat Assembly-to-Order (ATO) Process – This process – developed with Sunarrow, a leading keymats provider– reduces leadtime for keymats from 10-15 days to 12-24 hours using an assembly-to-order laser etching customization process. The advantages for OEMs include reduction of inventory, lead-time, cost, risk, excess and obsolescence, as well as increased flexibility.
