INEOS Styrolution, the global leader in styrenics, announces today the launch of its new ECO family of styrenics solutions that will support the creation of a circular economy for styrenics.
As the leader in styrenics, INEOS Styrolution is committed to provide its customers the best solutions for their respective businesses. INEOS Styrolution ECO products are the result of the company’s unmatched R&D expertise combined with extensive collaboration with leading-edge technology companies, with INEOS Group, and with the styrenics value chain.
INEOS Styrolution ECO products will include products made from mechanically or chemically recycled post-consumer plastic waste as well as materials based on renewable feedstock. This new family of solutions will reduce the amount of post-consumer waste going to landfill, support the recycling of post-consumer plastic waste, and efficiently use existing resources to allow for full circularity.
This new product range matches the performance of INEOS Styrolution’s existing product portfolio – and will help customers meet their own sustainability targets. The first products will be showcased at K 2019, the world’s premier fair on plastics and rubber to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Alexander Glück, President Americas, remarks: “The INEOS Styrolution ECO family of solutions is our contribution to significantly increase the amount of recycled content in products. We are pleased that we can continue to offer customers the strong performance they expect from us, while at the same time addressing their increasing expectations for sustainable products”.
Rob Buntinx, President Europe, adds: “In addition to optimising our existing products, we are investing into innovative technologies, which we believe will be a key cornerstone contributing to reducing post-consumer waste and boosting the growth of the INEOS Styrolution ECO family over time. Watch this space.”
Kevin McQuade, CEO INEOS Styrolution comments: “INEOS Styrolution ECO brings to life our commitment to take the ‘single’ out of ‘single-use’. We have combined best-in-class recycling technologies and performance in a unique, innovative way to provide high-quality, sustainable products and help make the circular economy a reality”.
Styrenics contribute to societal well-being during their use phase. Examples of benefits provided by styrenics include lower fuel consumption due to low weight materials, energy saving due to excellent insulation properties and reduced food waste due to hygienic food packaging. INEOS Styrolution ECO products continue to provide these benefits while minimising the impact on the environment.
