From frying oil to coupling relays: Siemens and Envalior collaborate on more sustainable electrical products

Siemens Smart Infrastructure has launched a new series of coupling relays with housings made from 70% bio-based plastic derived from biomass waste. The material, Akulon® K225-KS B-MB, was developed by Envalior in collaboration with Siemens to meet all performance requirements.

Envalior has introduced Pocan® BFN4232ZHR S1, a halogen-free flame-retardant PBT that combines the strengths of PBT and polyamide 6/66. It offers dimensional stability, low electro-corrosion, and strong electrical insulation at high temperatures, along with hydrolysis resistance, creep resistance, and at break comparable to polyamide.

The report was prepared on a voluntary basis and includes a Double Materiality Assessment (DMA).
