Distrupol and DuPont Engineering Polymers strengthen distribution agreement in the Nordic markets
Distrupol has chosen Scanplast 2003 to announce a strengthening of its exclusive distributor agreement with DuPont Engineering Polymers in the Nordic region, where Distrupol has been distributing the DuPont range of engineering plastics since the early 1990’s.
Distrupol will continue to be a key partner in the supply and distribution logistics for DuPont Engineering Polymers. At the same time DuPont will strengthen its Nordic organisation to focus more on development programmes with end-users in the key automotive, industrial, consumer, electronic and mobile phone sectors, as well as continue to retain direct sales with their key accounts.
“Distrupol will no longer just be a small-lots distributor for DuPont Engineering Polymers but will be a complete supplier, initiating many of its own development programmes,” explains Ulf Bruder, newly-appointed marketing manager at DuPont Engineering Polymers Nordic. “Distrupol will help us to realise our growth plans more quickly and there will be a much closer relationship between the two companies.”
The automotive market currently accounts for a significant portion of DuPont’s sales in the Nordic region, but the electronic and mobile phone industries are the fastest growing sectors. DuPont’s Zytel® HTN high performance polyamides are currently of particular interest in this market. These materials are able to operate at higher temperatures than both PA 6 and 6.6 grades and have a mechanical performance – particularly in terms of stiffness – that is unaffected by moisture absorption.
