Distrupol appointed sole distributor for DSM’s Sarlink®

Distrupol, the leading European polymer distributor, has been appointed by DSM as sole distributor for its Sarlink® range of thermoplastic vulcanisates (TPVs). The agreement covers product distribution throughout the UK, Ireland, the Nordic region, Benelux and France.

According to Lex Sips, DSM Sales Director, responsible for EPDM and Sarlink: “Key to Distrupol’s appointment was its existing leadership position in the UK, Irish and Nordic markets, combined with a very active sales team with a substantial background in engineering materials. Important too was the company’s strong technical support and complementary application development organisation.”

Ability to deliver service beyond product supply is characteristic of Distrupol’s customer support. In the case of Sarlink, the company is already providing small lot colour compounded services to Sarlink customers.This represents a major enhancement in meeting market needs as DSM only delivers the materials in black or natural.

Sarlink is a family of TPVs based on dynamically vulcanised EPDM rubber and thermoplastic blends, combining the performance of elastomers with the processing advantages of thermoplastics. Able to be injection moulded, blow moulded or extruded, Sarlink finds applications in automotive, construction, electrical and electronic, leisure and general industrial applications. Moreover, specialised grades within the product family serve the needs of medical, pharmaceutical and food-contact end-use.

The addition of Sarlink complements Distrupol’s comprehensive product portfolio which is supported by many of the world’s foremost polymer producers. Another complementary addition is the appointment of Bob Tabb to the Distrupol team.

Bob Tabb, who was previously DSM’s UK Sales Product Manager for Sarlink, brings an increased depth of knowledge and breadth of expertise to Distrupol’s product marketing and application development.
