Clariant showcases latest innovative technologies and CLARITY digital solution at Metal China 2026

  • Newly launched Ecosil LE III series delivers superior casting quality with enhanced low-emission performance
  • CLARITY digital service pilot program enables real-time data sharing and collaboration with foundry customers in China
  • Upgraded Zhenjiang applications center strengthens technical support capabilities

SHANGHAI, May 6, 2026 - Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, is presenting its latest innovations for the foundry industry at Metal China 2026, taking place May 6-9 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. As one of the leading players in the foundry segment both in China and globally, leveraging over 160 years of industry expertise, Clariant continues to demonstrate its commitment to customer focus and sustainability-driven innovation.

Ecosil LE III: Next-generation low-emission foundry additives

Clariant is showcasing its newly launched Ecosil LE III product series, an innovative mixture combining Geko P bentonite with Ecosil high lustrous carbon former. This next-generation additive delivers multiple advantages: improved green sand flowability for high-quality casting surfaces, significantly lower BTEX emissions, optimized sand collapsibility, reduced coal consumption, and effective prevention of metal penetration and expansion defects.

CLARITY digital service pilot for foundry

Extending the success of its application in Clariant's Catalysts business, Clariant Adsorbents is introducing CLARITY, its cloud-based digital platform developed by Navigance, as a pilot program for foundry customers in China. This service enables seamless data sharing and collaboration between Clariant and its foundry customers, providing 24/7 access to both plant and laboratory data through customizable dashboards and direct connection to Clariant's technical experts. Currently focused on information sharing and visualization, the platform will be enhanced with AI-powered predictive analytics capabilities in future phases.

Zhenjiang applications center upgrade

Clariant Adsorbents has completed comprehensive renovation of its foundry applications center at the Zhenjiang site, featuring advanced mixing and high-temperature testing equipment, enhanced analytical capabilities for green sand binder and auxiliary materials properties, and expanded pilot-scale testing facilities for hot property evaluation and casting simulation. This investment reinforces Clariant's commitment to deepening its expertise in bentonite and attapulgite technologies, helping customers build differentiated competitive advantages through innovative solutions that optimize casting quality, reduce defects, and lower total operational costs.

“These innovations reflect our dedication to providing foundry customers with cutting-edge solutions that enhance both performance and sustainability,” said Paul Liu, Clariant’s Head of Foundry, Adsorbents APAC. “From our new Ecosil LE III product line to digital collaboration through CLARITY and our upgraded applications center, we are strengthening our partnership with China's foundry industry to drive mutual success.”

Clariant's team of foundry experts is available at Booth 1D12 in Hall 1.1 to discuss these innovations and explore how Clariant's comprehensive portfolio can address specific customer challenges. For more information, please visit our Metal China 2026 website.
