Clariant Oil Services and Swire Energy Services open new supply base in Norway supporting European energy production

Clariant Oil Services significantly increases bulk chemical storage capacity and handling for the North Sea market
New site embraces full automation for safe and accurate chemical transfer to offshore vessels
This strategic facility expands Clariant’s operational footprint demonstrating commitment to supporting customer growth in the energy market

HOUSTON, TX, September 2, 2025 - Clariant Oil Services, a leading producer and supplier of specialty oilfield production chemicals and services to the oil and gas industry, has expanded its commitment to Norwegian Oil and Gas customers with a new bulk storage and transfer base located in Dusavik, Norway together with its long-standing strategic partner Swire Energy Services. The new site consists of multiple bulk storage tanks with transfer capability to supply either directly to vessels or tote tanks. The system is fully automated to ensure chemicals are transferred accurately and efficiently, and full operations are expected in September 2025.

Located in Stavanger, the Dusavik base will be key for supply and support activities in the Norwegian North Sea sector. As one of the major energy and maritime clusters in Norway, Dusavik offers access to high quality and mission critical infrastructure and local access to more than 60 service companies.

The new base includes a Quality Control laboratory and administration office alongside the bulk transfer storage. Additional storage capacity for Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC) and totes is located adjacent to the bulk storage facility to ensure all chemicals are contained in the same area. The laboratory can conduct a range of quality control assessments, with additional analysis available nearby in Tananger.

Clariant considers safety and sustainability to be of the utmost importance, and as such the Dusavik site has been designed in line with the stringent corporate standards expected of all Clariant sites.

Swire Energy Services brings extensive expertise in providing comprehensive solutions for the handling and transportation of high-value chemicals, ensuring products reach their destination safely and efficiently.
