Clariant successfully places EUR 300 million of certificates of indebtedness
Muttenz, April 26, 2016 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announced today the issuance of in aggregate EUR 300 million of debt in the German market for certificates of indebtedness (“Schuldschein”). The four certificates have terms of 4.5 years (EUR 156.5 million with a fixed coupon and EUR 55.5 million with a floating coupon), 7 years (EUR 73.5 million with a fixed coupon) and 10 years (EUR 14.5 million with a fixed coupon).

Clariant’s shareholders approve all agenda items at the Annual General Meeting
Muttenz, April 21, 2016 – At today’s Annual General Meeting in Basel, the shareholders of Clariant AG, a world leader in specialty chemicals, approved all agenda items and proposals put forward by the Board of Directors. The meeting was attended by 323 shareholders and shareholder representatives accounting for 188 389 574 shares or around 56.75 % of the share capital of Clariant.

Clariant concludes extensive testing on sugarcane residues with excellent results
Munich, April 19, 2016 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, has conducted comprehensive tests on over 40 containers of sugarcane bagasse and tops & leaves from Brazil at its pilot and pre-commercial facilities in Straubing, Germany to receive in-depth technical and economic validation of the sunliquid® technology. With the tests Clariant confirmed once more that the total cost per liter of cellulosic ethanol including feedstock, conversion and depreciation using the sunliquid technology can achieve price competitiveness with sugarcane ethanol pricing in Brazil.

Clariant expands bleaching earth capacity in Mexico
Muttenz, April 13, 2016 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, is increasing production capacity for Tonsil® bleaching earths and Tonsil Coarse Optimized (CO) grades at its Puebla site in Mexico by 30 %. The additional capacity comes on stream as of April 2016, concluding two years of work of an investment in the mid single-digit million range in Swiss francs to expand the production capabilities of Clariant’s newest Tonsil production line at Puebla.
