Belden-Mitarbeiter erhält „Community Volunteer Award“
Der US-amerikanische Datenübertragungsspezialist Belden, zu dem auch die Neckartenzlinger Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH gehört, verleiht jedes Jahr den sogenannten Community Volunteer Award. Für diesen Preis, mit dem das Unternehmen herausragendes ehrenamtliches Engagement auszeichnet, wurden aus einem großen Pool von Bewerbern dieses Mal zehn der weltweit über 6.600 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter nominiert. Unter den insgesamt sechs Preisträgern ist auch Produktmanager Rolf-Dieter Sommer, der 1995 zu den Mitbegründern des Förderkreises Pro Mukoviszidose Stuttgart e.V. gehörte und seitdem dort durchschnittlich zehn Stunden im Monat unentgeltlich tätig ist. Davon profitiert der Förderkreis jetzt gleich doppelt. Denn er erhält von Belden 5.000 Euro, mit denen der Community Volunteer Award dotiert ist. Darüber hinaus ist Sommers Kollege Edgar Blum für seine ehrenamtliche Tätigkeit mit einer ehrenhaften Erwähnung ausgezeichnet worden.

Nieuw logistiek centrum voor Belden EMEA
Op 16 December 2011 neemt Belden EMEA haar nieuw Logistiek Centrum in Venlo officieel in gebruik. Het Belden Logistiek Centrum, dat dan in totaal 6.000m2 beslaat, gaat vanaf de nieuwe locatie verder met het zorgdragen voor het wereldwijd verzenden van de vervaardigde Belden kabelproducten. Deze zullen geproduceerd worden in Venlo, als mede in andere delen van de wereld.

New Industrial Ethernet Certificates
Hirschmann™ is one of the leading providers of Industrial Ethernet products and solutions. Launched in 2003, the Hirschmann™ certification and training program has since captured a firm place on the market. Five Industrial Ethernet certificates have now been added to this already extensive program. These certificates are awarded for the “Specialist” and “Professional” levels and allow participants to prove their expertise in the areas of Routing, Security and Wireless LAN as well as their basic or advanced know-how in network administration for the industry sector. The relevant tests can be taken online or at Hirschmann’s site in Neckartenzlingen near Stuttgart. Participation in the training courses in Neckartenzlingen is optional.

Am Belden-Standort Neckartenzlingen starten zwölf Jugendliche ins Berufsleben bei Hirschmann
Anfang September 2011 haben gleich zwölf Jugendliche am Belden-Standort Neckartenzlingen, wo die Produkte der Marke Hirschmann™ entwickelt und produziert werden, eine Berufsausbildung begonnen. Neun von ihnen werden in den Lehrberufen Elektroniker für Geräte und Systeme, Mechatroniker, Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration und Verfahrensmechaniker ausgebildet. Drei junge Leute absolvieren an der Dualen Hochschule Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart die Studiengänge Angewandte Informatik und Betriebswirtschaftslehre.

Guaranteeing a reliable power supply over four decades
Since 1971, well over a hundred million of Hirschmann™’s ST-series connectors have been produced. Still retaining practically the same original design, these connectors are used to provide power for electric awnings, blinds and shutters. The maximum rated voltage is AC 400 V/DC 250 V, with a rated current of up to AC 16 A/DC 10 A. Because the connectors are reliable, easy to install and have a long operational life they have become the standard for a wide range of applications including mechanical engineering, lighting technology and the medical sectors. This is why the ST-series remains an important part of the connector program and will continue to be further developed if necessary.
