High precision mould gives Axxicon a sharp edge in personal care
These product forming details are for a disposable razor handle, one of a series of over 200 identical sets that offer complete cavity to cavity interchangeability. They were manufactured at Axxicon Moulds Cleveleys Limited, based in the UK, utilising a dedicated EDM production cell, which operates in a network that includes off line programming, pre-setting, job management and automated work piece and electrode handling.
According to Martyn Robinson of Axxicon Mould Technology, the company's ability to supply multi cavity high performance moulds with cavity to cavity interchangeability has given Axxicon a strong position in the personal care market: "Global companies require a strong partner to provide a complete mould making service. Total project control is crucial in this most stringent of sectors. Over the years, Axxicon has acquired a wealth of experience offering full traceability throughout the processes of design, engineering, and production through to on site validation culminating in customer approval." He adds: "Typical projects begin with preproduction moulds to gain full knowledge of the process, this information is then built into the production mould variants."
Axxicon Mould Technology has in-depth experience of controlling such projects and delivering high volume mould solutions. In addition to mould engineering, leading edge automated manufacture, Axxicon also offers on-site testing, inspection, development, mould validation and pre-production runs as well as customer support with detailed mould manuals, maintenance and spare parts.
