Axxicon Mould Technology sets new focused approach

Axxicon Mould Technology, recently acquired by the Mikron Technology Group, has set out its vision for the future. With an emphasis on high-end markets, the company announces its ambition to become the world's number one manufacturer of complex high performance moulds.

According to recently appointed Managing Director, Arno Wendrich, the "new" Axxicon has adopted a strongly focused approach: "Our engineering skills are especially suited for high precision moulds in high speed assembly applications. Particularly in key applications for the medical, pharmaceutical, disposable, packaging, infocom and optical industries, there is a requirement for outstanding mould performance and durability as well as a need for duplication of moulds. There is a need for one supplier, capable of handling complete mould programmes with sufficient resources to supply one or more identical sets at one time, possibly operated at different locations.

"Continued globalisation of markets with world-wide standard platforms leads to a demand in serial production moulds, whereas increased automation of assembly requires high precision in plastic parts. As a consequence, the mould industry is changing from one where local craftsmanship is replaced by precision engineering and manufacturing. Building on many years of experience, we are able to produce highly complex customer specified moulds, and thanks to our advanced, controlled process of manufacturing and industrial approach to mould making, we are able to reproduce completely identical moulds to ensure customers' global standards are maintained.

Axxicon Mould Technology has already established a strong reputation for the development and production of standardised mould systems for optical media, such as CD, DVD, Smarts Cards and moulds for the manufacturing of ISO test specimens through its acclaimed AIM™ Mould System.
