Clariant Mining Solutions to present paper on breakthrough collector as xanthate alternative at SME 2016

El polietileno Lumicene® M3427 recibe la etiqueta Total Ecosolutions para campos de deporte de césped artificial
Bruselas, 4 de marzo de 2016 - El polietileno Lumicene® M3427 se utiliza para fabricar monofilamento de césped artificial cuya principal aplicación es el césped sintético de los campos de deporte. Los rollos de césped fabricados con este monofilamento presentan una resistencia a la fibrilación dos veces mayor que el polietileno lineal de baja densidad a base de octeno, que es actualmente la referencia en el mercado. Esto quedó demostrado mediante las prolongadas pruebas llevadas a cabo por Lisport siguiendo la norma EN 15336 y los resultados fueron confirmados por los principales fabricantes del monofilamento. Se calcula que el aumento de la vida útil del campo deportivo es de más del 50%.

Perstorp signs Memorandum of Understanding at “Make in India”

By signing an MoU with MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation), the company initiates the process of evaluating the opportunity to invest in a new world scale production plant for Penta in India. The related market for coatings is growing fast in the country. Building a world scale production plant would be yet another important part of the ambitious plan to strengthen the position in the Asian Market. In July 2015, Perstorp acquired the Penta business from Koei Chemical Company Ltd., a Japanese chemicals producer.

Bioethanol made from agricultural residues used for the first time in cleaning agents
Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, in cooperation with Werner & Mertz, the producer of Frosch® products, has launched a project which expands the possible applications of bioethanol made from agricultural residues such as straw to detergents, cleansers and cleaning agents. sunliquid® bioethanol has been used in Frosch® Bio-Spirit Multisurface-Cleaner since the beginning of the year. As part of this, Clariant supplied the cellulosic ethanol, also called bio spirit, at the end of 2015 from its pre-commercial plant in Straubing, where up to 1 000 tons of cellulosic ethanol are produced annually using the sunliquid® process.

Clariant to Expand Global Manufacturing of Masterbatches for Engineering and High-Temperature Resins
Muttenz, February 18, 2016 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announced plans to invest more than CHF 7.5 million in specialized equipment and facilities to expand the capabilities and capacities for the production of color and additive masterbatches for use in engineering resins and high-temperature plastics like PEEK (polyether ether ketone). The largest investment has been earmarked for plants in Shanghai, Singapore, and at two plants in the U.S.A.
