Top Leaders From Across the Middle East Come Together To Discuss Potential Next Steps For Patient Safety

RIYADH, KINGDOM of SAUDI ARABIA – December 21, 2011 – GE Healthcare Performance Solutions, a division of GE Healthcare, recently co-hosted a Patient Safety Summit together with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Guard Health Affairs in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Top leaders from across the industry including speakers from the Saudi Ministry of Health, National Guard Health Affairs, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, GE Healthcare Performance Solutions and other international organizations came together to discuss the current challenges of patient safety. This seminar focused on addressing the current challenges for leadership, front line staff and clinicians in the areas of reporting, culture change, and interventions.

Le resine leggere Xenoy* e Lexan* di SABIC garantiscono un comfort assoluto al nuovo casco di protezione Versaflo™ serie M di 3M™

BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi – 15 dicembre 2011 – Poiché il dispositivo di protezione risulta efficace soltanto se indossato, 3M™ ha progettato una nuova linea di elmetti e caschi ergonomici ed eccezionalmente comodi, realizzati con le resine leggere di qualità ottica Xenoy* e Lexan* OQ dell'unità Innovative Plastics di SABIC. La nuova linea di caschi con respiratore Versaflo™ serie M di 3M utilizza la resina Xenoy a base di policarbonato/polibutilentereftalato (PC/PBT) con colore personalizzato per la calotta del casco e il telaio della visiera. La resina ha consentito una progettazione a parete sottile, che ha permesso di ridurre il peso del casco del 15% - 20% circa rispetto ai precedenti prodotti 3M della serie L. La resina trasparente Lexan OQ PC utilizzata per le visiere garantisce inoltre ottime qualità ottiche e resistenza agli urti. Il rapporto di lunga durata tra SABIC e 3M testimonia l'impegno che SABIC dedica a mantenere una stretta collaborazione con i clienti, volta ad aiutarli a differenziarsi dalla concorrenza e a raggiungere il successo commerciale.

Flexible switches via PoE

Belden has added three new unmanaged low-cost switches from the SPIDER series to its Hirschmann™ product range. These switches support Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbps) and have either five twisted-pair ports (SPIDER 5TX PD EEC) or one twisted-pair port and one fiberoptic port for multimode (SPIDER 1TX/1FX-MM PD EEC) or singlemode optical fiber (SPIDER 1TX/1FX-SM PD EEC). Other features include industrial protection class IP30, a strong metal housing and an extended temperature range from -40° to +70°C. Since all versions are powered via PoE there is no need for a separate power supply or even a socket. These switches can therefore be used wherever a PoE port is available, thus allowing flexible network expansion, with additional ports for data transmission via copper cable or – for large distances or where there are strong electromagnetic fields – fiberoptic uplinks.
