Borouge PTE Limited being a leading provider of innovative plastics solution announced today the investment of a manufacturing plant in Shanghai China. Borouge has decided to press ahead with further investments in the key markets including China despite the current prevailing global financial crisis. The first phase of this investment include a 50,000 tons plant focusing on engineering plastics for use in the automotive industry. The plant will be set up in the Fengxian District of Shanghai.

Brussel, België, 18 december 2008 – Op 12 december hebben Europa, Vlaanderen en Nederland binnen het kader van een Interreg IV-project de krachten gebundeld om €21 miljoen aan Bio Base Europe toe te wijzen. Bio Base Europe is het grootste Interreg-project dat ooit is toegewezen aan de grensregio Vlaanderen-Nederland. Bio Base Europe zal onderzoeks- en opleidingsfaciliteiten voor bioprocessen bouwen om de ontwikkeling van een duurzame biogebaseerde economie in Europa te versnellen.

De driedaagse bijeenkomst begint op dinsdag 31 maart met een keynote speech van Patrick Thomas, chief executive officer van Bayer MaterialScience. (Foto: UTECH, PR010) Het gaat boven verwachting met de inschrijvingen voor de UTECH Europe 2009 Conferentie, welke zal plaatsvinden van 31 maart tot en met 2 april 2009 in het MECC te Maastricht. Al snel na de publicatie van het programma in september 2008 werd duidelijk dat deze conferentie wel eens één van de meest succesvolle bijeenkomsten kan worden sinds de start van de UTECH in 1986.
