Rhodia to boost innovation capability in asia
Shanghai, China – April 15, 2008 --- Rhodia today celebrated the laying of the foundation stone for a new world-class Research & Development facility in Shanghai, China at a ceremony in the presence of Shanghai municipality representatives, R&D partners and journalists from key medias of China and Japan, The new facility, due to open in summer 2008, will reinforce the Shanghai laboratory’s position as one of the five major R&D centers of the Group. It will employ 150 scientists and provide Rhodia with a geographically balanced global R&D footprint, allowing the Group to drive its growth and ambitious development targets in the Asia-Pacific region.

DSM ARNITEL® C TPE PARA CABLES OFRECE LAS MEJORES PRESTACIONES AL ENVEJECIMIENTO POR CALOR ADEMÁS DE RETARDANCIA DE LLAMA SIN HALÓGENO
DSM Engineering Plastics presentó un nuevo producto para su línea de elastómeros termoplásticos (TPE) Arnitel®, con especiales características para cumplir las fuertes exigencias en cuanto a prestaciones y normativas de los actuales diseñadores de automóviles. El Arnitel® C, una tecnología muy avanzada para recubrimientos de cables, posee la mejor resistencia al envejecimiento por calor de cualquier TPE-E, además de retardancia de llama sin halógeno y resistencia a la hidrólisis, características que superan a otros elastómeros de copoliéster. Gracias a su excelente resistencia a la abrasión, este nuevo material permite reducir el peso y la masa del cableado mediante recubrimientos de un mínimo de grosor. Además de los cables en motores de automoción, el Arnitel® C es ideal para otras aplicaciones de extrusión como componentes de los mazos de cables, tubos corrugados y manguitos.

Developed under the Vydyne® brand name, GW350 offers superior toughness and elongation and meets International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) requirements. GW350 is a material primarily designed for E/E applications, especially those used in manufacturing household appliances.
