Rohm and Haas Appoints New China President
Shanghai, China, February 18, 2008 –Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE:ROH) announces today that Du Hua is appointed as Rohm and Haas China President, based in the company’s China Research Development Center (CRDC) in Shanghai. PPG quarterly earnings per share up 30 percent on best volume growth in 3 years
PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) recently reported record sales for the fourth quarter of $2.9 billion, surpassing the prior year’s fourth quarter results by 15 percent. Fourth quarter net income was $200 million, or $1.21 per share, and was comprised of net income from continuing operations of $193 million, or $1.17 per share, and income from discontinued operations, net of tax, of $7 million, or 4 cents per share. Fourth quarter earnings per share from continuing operations represents a 30-percent increase over the prior year’s quarter.
