BENETEAU ET DSM DYNEEMA COOPERENT POUR AMELIORER LES PERFORMANCES DES VOILIERS
Urmond, 5 avril, 2007 - BENETEAU, premier constructeur mondial de voiliers de plaisance, a choisi « Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber™ » (« la fibre la plus solide du monde ») pour ses gréements de compétition. Cette collaboration avec DSM Dyneema a pour but d’améliorer les performances de ses voiliers à l’aide d’une nouvelle génération de gréements en Dyneema®, une fibre de polyéthylène légère et ultra résistante. Ces gréements, fabriqués par la Corderie Henri Lancelin, équiperont la plupart des voiliers de croisière construits par BENETEAU, dont tous ceux de la gamme BENETEAU First.

INNOVATION WITH DYNEEMA® IN UNDERWATER PIPE-LAYING OPERATIONS
Urmond, April 4, 2007 – Allseas Group S.A., a Swiss offshore pipelaying company, has collaborated with DSM Dyneema to improve the safety and speed of underwater pipe-laying using next-generation rope technology. The two companies have worked to replace traditional steel wire rope used to adjust pipelay stingers with a new product from BEXCOropes that is made with ultra-strong, lightweight polyethylene Dyneema® fiber. The new rope, which has been installed on Allseas’ pipe-laying vessel Audacia, enables faster, easier and safer operations.

Brenntag Oil & Gas présente une alternative sûre pour la pré-sulfuration des catalyseurs
Brenntag Oil & Gas Europe, un des plus grands distributeurs de produits chimiques au monde, présente par l’intermédiaire de son partenaire The Lubrizol Corporation la nouvelle génération d’agent de sulfuration catalytique: SulfrZol® 54. Avec un point d’éclair de 100 ºC, ce produit est beaucoup plus sûr que les agents de sulfuration traditionnels comme le DMDS (disulfure de diméthyle). Vu les développements actuels au sein de l’industrie qui obligent les raffineries à augmenter leurs niveaux de sécurité, Brenntag considère ceci comme le meilleur produit disponible sur le marché. Borealis’ Daplen achieves technological breakthrough in fully integrated fender
Borealis has delivered the foundation for a technological breakthrough to the automotive industry with the development of Daplen™ EF341AE used in the world’s first fully integrated fender module. The material, a thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) compound, has been specifically tailored to meet BMW’s exacting specifications for the new BMW X5 regarding improved production cost, safety, high quality aesthetics and environmental performance. The resulting TPO fender is the most complex and highly integrated, class A body application to be seen in production to date.

Polyscope Polymers, Europe’s newest and foremost manufacturer and supplier of Styrene Maleic Anhydride (SMA) co-polymers has introduced its XIRAN® SMA product range. The product is manufactured in Europe, and provides a significantly better alternative for users of existing SMA products. In addition, the product's properties and performance may well provide new opportunities for parts manufacturers who currently use other materials such as Polyamide, PPLGF, PPEPDM or ABS blends. In recent tests for a specific automotive application, XIRAN® delivered a significant weight saving compared to glass reinforced Polyamide as well as a considerable decrease in cycle-time.
